In 2020, we created our Sustainable & Impact Investing area with the goal of connecting global investors to sustainable investment opportunities in Latin America, generating positive social and environmental impacts, contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and delivering consistent returns to our clients.
Today, we operate in three main areas: Sustainable Finance, Sustainable and Impact Funds, and Environmental Assets.

The Sustainable Funding Program was launched in November 2021 and is the first sustainable deposit-raising initiative (CDB and LFs) in Latin America. It is available to our corporate clients. Access our updated Framework for more information.

By 2023, we contributed approximately R$90 billion in green, social, sustainable, and ESG-linked debt.
We offer investment products and strategies with a sustainability focus across different asset classes. Our goal is to deliver financial returns while also generating positive impact.
A Private Equity fund focusing on investments in companies that generate intentional, positive, and measurable social and/or environmental impact, while also delivering solid financial returns. Fixed Income funds focusing on investments in assets labeled with second-party opinions issued by specialized consultancies, including but not limited to green, social, sustainable, climate transition bonds, or ESG-linked bonds. In this strategy, we have one fund focusing on emerging markets and another focusing on Brazil.
In partnership with Chile’s asset management team, the fund seeks to finance businesses in the expansion stage (start-ups) that contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals whether directly or indirectly through targets established during the debt period.

BTG Pactual has been active in the development of carbon markets and other environmental assets to support its clients’ and partners’ decarbonization journey.
Carbon Market: In 2023, we announced a minority acquisition of Systemica, a company committed to the global challenge of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Through the development of technological projects and nature-based solutions, Systemica seeks to promote sustainable development by combining economic returns with positive social and environmental impact.
CBIOs: Since 2021, BTG Pactual has been involved in the RenovaBio Program through bookkeeping and trading of CBIOs (decarbonization credits).
