Get to know the Sustainable and Impact Investing division
We created the Sustainable & Impact Investing division in 2020 with the goal of connecting global investors to sustainable investment opportunities in Latin America, as well as generating positive social and environmental impacts, contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and delivering consistent returns for our clients.
Today, we operate in three main areas: Sustainable Finance, Sustainable and Impact Funds, and Environmental Assets.

It was also the first issuance of this type by a private institution in Latin America and benefited the first sanitation company to access the capital market with a blue bond in the world.

LatinFinance Awards
2023The structuring and distribution of the first blue bond in Brazil was also recognized as the Sustainable Infrastructure Project of the Year by LatinFinance. 
IMPACT Awards
2022The structuring of the first blue bond in Brazil, on behalf of BRK Ambiental, was recognized as the Impact Initiative of the Year – Latin America and the Caribbean for its innovative use of proceeds, paving the way for corporate issuances in emerging markets in a critical sector, with clear social and environmental benefits. 
IMPACT Awards
2021In 2021, the Sustainable and Impact Investments team was recognized as Initiative of the Year for the creation of the division in 2020. BTG Pactual launched the division to establish it as a hub connecting global investors to ESG investment opportunities locally and across Latin America.

BTG Pactual is committed to increasingly supporting projects and assets with social and environmental benefits.
Sustainable Fundings
In November 2020, we executed our first green bond issuance. The operation was a private placement worth US$50 million. Two months later, in January 2021, we issued our first senior green bond in the market, totaling US$500 million.
Sustainable Funding Program
In November 2021, we launched the Sustainable Funding Program, the first sustainable deposit-raising initiative (CDB and LFs) in Latin America, available to our corporate clients.
Environmental and Social Financing Lines
Reinforcing our commitment to the ESG strategy, we carried out a series of fundraisings with multilateral institutions, such as DEG & Proparco (2020), DFC (2021), and JICA (2022), aimed at climate and social financing.
